Join us as we kick off off our new Earth Skills series with a natural dye workshop!
We will be hosting special guest Fatima Janneh, a Gambian American interdisciplinary textile artist. She works primarily within West African Natural Dye tradition, currently teaching in the Boston area.
Participants will learn how to make natural dyes and prepare fabric, followed by a hands-on demo where they will dye their own bandana with marigold ink to take home.
This is kid friendly but all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
When: 10am to 12pm, March 29th
Where: Montgomery College Food Forest at the intersection of Chicago and Philadelphia Ave, Takoma Park, MD, 20912 (map here)
Cost: $20/person
Registration is required but we have a limited number of free spaces for those who can’t afford the workshop. Please email us at info@foodforestcollective.org to find out more.
