Join us in the food forest for our first ever fall food festival. We'll have demos on how to make acorn flour, how to pickle the harvest for the winter, how to use fig leaves in a range of Turkish dishes and how to brew Ethiopian coffee the traditional way, plus a kids workshop on how to make pasta with fresh herbs from the food forest.
We’ll also have a seed and plant share so please do bring any seeds or plants you’d like to swap or share with the community.
There will be kids crafting and live music, plus Ethiopian coffee and local honey for sale. We’ll also have free vegan tamales.
And we’ll be joined by the good folks from the following organizations:
SilvoCulture - an organization dedicated to planting food forests and helping to plant one million nut trees in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Sanctuary Urban Farm - a beautifully rewilded urban space and one of only two officially recognized urban farms in Montgomery County.
