Foraging for Backyard Herbs

Join this workshop with local herbalist Serda Ozbenian and discover the healing potential of the vibrant, nutritious, and often overlooked plants growing right in your own backyard! In this class, we’ll explore the medicinal properties of common spring herbs, often referred to as “weeds.”

These powerful plants are frequently disregarded, but in this workshop, you'll learn how they can support your body in cleansing and rejuvenating after a cold winter.

We'll discuss safe foraging practices, identify key herbs, and explore how to prepare your own natural remedies. Participants will have the opportunity to make and take home their own herbal remedy, with all materials provided.

When: 11.30am to 1.30pm, Saturday April 18th

Where: Corner of Philadelphia Ave & Chicago Ave (Montgomery College Food Forest, 7719 Chicago Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, 20910 map here)

This workshop costs $25 per adult. Those under the age of 16 are free if supervised by a paying adult. We have a limited number of free spaces for those who can’t afford the workshop. Please email us at info@foodforestcollective.org to find out more.
