Join us in the food forest for an afternoon of color, craft, and learning from the plants around us with returning textile artist Fatima Janneh.
In this hands-on natural dye workshop, we’ll explore how acorns can be transformed into rich, earthy browns, and how the addition of iron can shift and deepen those colors in surprising ways. Fatima will guide participants through the natural dye process, sharing the techniques behind preparing plant materials, working with cloth, and using iron to alter color.
Each participant will dye their own 100% cotton bandana to take home, while gaining an introduction to practices that invite us to see familiar plants and materials in new ways.
